Holden: 19 Months

Holden's 19th monthly photo, taken on the 1st of every month.

Holden turned 19 months old on the 1st of September, which was over a month ago! As I mentioned in the last post, we finally moved in to our brand new house in the middle of August, so we have been quite busy getting organised the last few weeks and we still have no internet access! At the start of August we spent time with family and friends including lots of lunches, visited a new play cafe and a local farm, Holden had a birthday party and I even had a night out at a festival show with my friends. We enjoyed more of the summer with another family birthday BBQ and spending time in the garden. Once we had the keys to our new house we took a week off work and got everything delivered from the storage company and moved from my parents' house. We managed to unpack some of it while Holden was with my aunt and at nursery, before we officially moved in on the 21st of August. Since then there were a lot of shopping trips for the house and visitors coming to have a look. We did manage a trip to the zoo and a lunch with Holden's great gran and great aunt and we have also started exploring our new town. At the end of the month, Holden had his last day at his old nursery and had a couple of settling in sessions at the new one and he also got to see a puppet show at the festival, which he loved, on one of his days with Granny & Grandad.

Holden is getting more teeth and we think he now has 8 although he doesn't like to let us look. He's started jumping this month and is getting better at not using his dummy during the day. One of Holden's friends (we met at our antenatal classes & discovered we lived in the same block) has moved in just two doors along from us so it's lovely that they can play together and have enjoyed spending time together in their garden. Holden has loved the new house, especially his new room with all his toys, and he particularly liked playing in the empty wardrobes before we moved in. He's settled in really quickly and it hasn't affected his sleeping at all which has always been really good.

This month we have been concentrating on getting our house organised and all 65 boxes unpacked. In September, we will start settling in properly and Holden will start his new nursery.

I'm going to take the same photos every month if I can, beside his bunny and standing beside his penguin.

  1. The photo with the penguin might be my favourite so far. He is getting so grown up! He really is thriving, isn't he! :)
